Wettability Altering Surfactants

Changes in wettability are used to increase or reduce the flow of liquids and gases across solid surfaces. This is particularly useful in oil and gas injection and production.

Oil Chem's WSA-60 and OSA-78 are unique surfactants to be used to change the wettability and modify the permeability of the oil-bearing formation. WSA-78 is a water-soluble surfactant generally used to change the wettability of a surface from oil to water-wet. OSA-60 is an oil-soluble surfactant also generally used to convert water-wet surfaces to oil-wet.

Flow Improvers

Oil Chem Technologies has developed a series of unique, patents pending surfactant based flow improvers to reduce friction and increase flow of oil through pipelines. Small additions of the FI series of flow improvers can result in dramatic increases in fluid flow and reduced energy cost associated with heating pipelines to reduce viscosity. In many cases the FI series can reduce or eliminate the need for demusifiers that are usually required to separate oil and water at treating stations. Contact Oil Chem Technologies to discuss your flow problems. We can evaluate your oil/water system and provide the optimum FI series flow improver.
