About Us...
Oil Chem Technologies
continues to provide the industry with innovative ideas,
quality products and services since its inception in
1986. Oil Chem Technologies' goal is to develop new
products and specialized service for each customer based
on their special needs. Oil Chem Technologies is ready
to help solve your particular problem as well as provide
products for your applications. Oil Chem Technologies'
products include:
- Alkali Surfactant Polymer (ASP)
surfactants
(US Patent No. 6,022,834)
Oil Chem Technologies' ASP surfactants, the ORS and
ORS HF series, have been widely recognized for their
flexibility and high performance. These state-of-the-art
IOR surfactants have been successfully applied in
Northern China, several fields in North America and
have been approved for many potential ASP projects
all over the world.
- Low Alkali Surfactant Polymer
(LASP) surfactants
LASP surfactants are a new product line that provide
the advantages and minimize the disadvantages of the
ASP process:
- Uses less alkali than ASP (0.1 - 0.8%)
- Reduces the polymer degradation because less
alkali is used
- Reduces the damage caused by the alkali, such
as corrosion and scale problems
- Reduces the total cost of the chemicals and
equipment maintenance, etc. by approximately 50%.
- Super Surfactants
The Super Surfactant series provides ultra-low IFT
without the need for alkali. They are tolerant to
high TDS brines containing high divalent cation concentrations.
They can be added at low concentrations (0.02% - 0.2%)
along with the water flood in the secondary recovery
stage or for tertiary recovery. The Super Surfactants
provide savings on alkali, polymer, water treatment,
sludge disposal, surface equipment, potential scale
formation, equipment maintenance, etc.
- Smart Surfactants
(US Patent Pending)
The Smart Surfactant System is a self-diverting,
one component system to provide low IFT and mobility
control at the same time. It is salt and divalent
cation tolerant, thermally stable process especially
suited for low permeability residual oil recovery,
water blocking for gas wells or self-diverting injection
for IOR. It minimizes the huge up-front investment
related to handling equipment. Water treatment and
gel hydration units are not required for the process.
The Smart Surfactant System diverts the injection
brine containing the Smart Surfactant to locations
in the reservoir containing residual oil while by-passing
those areas previously saturated with water. It prevents
the selective channeling of the injection brine that
frequently occurs with waterflooding and surfactant/polymer
or alkaline/ surfactant/polymer flooding.
- Surfactant Added Water
Flood
Water Flood is commonly used as an economic and effective
method in secondary recovery after primary methods
have been exhausted. In general, the water flood can
remove ~ 20-30% of the residue oil. Low concentration
of the surfactant can be added in the water flood
to reduce the interfacial tension, increase the capillary
number and therefore improve the oil recovery. Surfactant
added water flood can also improve the injectivity
of the water flood and especially benefit low permeability
formations. Oil Chem's surfactants are salt and divalent
cation tolerant and water treatment is not required.
They can simply be added using an injection pump to
the water injection line with minimum equipment requirement
and cost.
- "Green" delayed
gel breaker for fracturing fluid (US Patent
Pending)
DGB-57 is a biodegradable product designed to delay
the function of the oxidizing breakers used in fracturing
fluid in order to better control the gel break time
and prevent the premature gel breaking of the fracturing
fluid. The delayed breaking function can be adjusted
by varying the concentrations and ratio of the DGB-57
to the oxidizing breakers.
- Defoamer for extreme pH
and temperatures applications
NOFOAM 1976 is a silicone free dispersion of
surface modified inorganic silica in mineral oil.
It is stable under conditions of extreme pH (<1
- 14) and temperatures > 350 o F. NOFOAM 1976
combines the best properties of organosilicone and
organic based foam control agents.
- Wettability altering
agents
OSA-78 and WSA-60 surfactants are used to improve
or alter surface wetting properties. Water cuts may
also be reduced in oil and gas wells by using these
surfactants.
- Arylalkyl sulfonates
(US Patent No. 6,043,391)
Raw materials available in the required quantity,
consistency and cost are some of the main issues when
considering an enlarged field flood. Oil Chem's new
arylalkyl sulfonates offer the advantages of consistent
quality, low cost, easily manufactured surfactants
made from readily available raw materials. They do
not require a costly alkylation plant and the process
is portable enough to allow the product to be made
locally or at a location near the injection site.
